We know what you're thinking right now. "UDtweets.com...? Why, that's pure genius! Why didn't I think of that idea?" We know. It is genius. Or at the very least, mildly awesome. And given the fact that you are actually reading this right now, clearly you agree. Which makes you awesome.
The idea behind UDtweets.com is simple: pull twitter posts from people, businesses and offices from all over the University of Dayton campus, and put them into one convenient, easy to view place. UD alumni, faculty, staff, fans and of course, students - can get all of their UD-related information in one spot, without having to follow all of them on twitter. In fact, you don't even have to be on twitter to see the posts. So for all of you anti-social networkers out there, this is the site for you. And even if you are on that bandwagon, you might just find this site useful anyway.
UDtweets.com is the brainchild of University of Dayton alum, Mark Lamanna '06. Mark, a techy nerd by all accounts, is responsible for the back end programming, maintenance and upkeep of the site. The site has become a hobby for him, and gives him the opportunity to channel all the exciting IT and programming knowledge he learned as a computer science major in college... all while benefiting the UD community. Can you say Learn. Lead. Serve? You betcha. A classic example of the UD spirit, right here.
While the concept for the site was solid, the overall appearance of it left something to be desired. Enter Mark's friend and marketing mastermind, Courtney Deutsch '98. Also a UD alum, Courtney is responsible for the look and feel of the site, and for promoting it to each and every person she encounters. Or at the very least... anyone who will listen. Chatty by nature, this is the perfect job for Courtney, a former communications major at UD, and someone who, well... quite frankly, has a little bit of time on her hands.
So thanks for checking out our site. A take solace in knowing that you will never again need to ask yourself, "I wonder what that person who is posing as Coach Brian Gregory is thinking at this very moment."
